Design Collaboration

We get energized by great ideas and new design partnerships. Custom projects are a big commintment of both time and energy, we hope to make the process as rewarding as the final result. Our custom projects team partners with you along the creative journey to insure your design goals are met.

Creative Problem Solving

We're a scrappy team of Designer/Makers that are just as comfortable working in the shop as we are at our desks. Our Seattle studio located in a 100 year old warehouse, is home to both design and fabrication teams. This intentional overlap allows for collaboration and seamless communication between designers and makers, throughout a project. Our team is well versed working at a variety of scales from small custom configures of or standard products all the way up to fully custom large scale art installation.

Project Coordination

There isn't anything more exciting for us than to bring great ideas to life. We know that custom projects can sometimes be intimidating and we're here the take the guess work out of what can often be a stressful/intimidating process. We aim to keep the initial excitement and energy around a great idea alive through the whole project.

Our Path

Exploring Concepts

We love to be included in your projects from their initial conception, were our local reps and internal custom projects team can help to steer ideas in the right direction. We are here to help you establish the design intent and project scope along with helping you to determine an overall budget. During the beginning stage of a project we work digitally to generate drawings and models to help you and your clients visualize the concept. We then provide you with a project proposal including a price quote, for one or more concepts depending on the project scale.

Redefining Design

Once a design concept is solidified, we move forward with creating a detailed set of drawings, communicating all aspects of the project. This set of drawings serves to communicate design details to all project collaborators as well as all details need during the fabrication process. This is also the phase when we provide any material samples and if needed physical mockups to help bring the concept to life. Once we recieve approval of the drawing set, the project is ready to move into the production phase.

Creating

All our custom projects are designed and assembled in our Seattle studio. We have a broad range of inhouse fabrication resources and equipment including cnc laser, knife, and milling machines that allow us to create in almost any material. When we do need a little extra help, we turn to our large network of skilled fabrication partners both locally and aboard.

Installation

The final step can often be the most daunting. To ensure a seamless installation, we provide detailed shop drawings and installation instructions for all our custom projects. Before a project ships we like to engage in a final coordination meeting with your contractors to insure the the site is ready to receive the shipment and to help out with the sequencing onsite in preparation for the installation. If you get stuck at any point we’re just a phone call or email away.

For large scale and complex projects, we do offer optional onsite installation assistance, where we will work hand in hand with your contractor to guarantee a smooth and timely installation.
